Utilising Nollywood's melodramatic trope as a framework, Pentecostalism is explored through its key players; the flamboyant preachers, charismatic \u003cb\u003e women \u003c\/b\u003e worshippers, \u003cb\u003e gay men \u003c\/b\u003e in the choir and miracle \u003cb\u003e performers \u003c\/b\u003e in the congregation, looking at how each negotiates space within the church, wielding power through performance. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e Scholarship of Pentecostalism is often concerned with critiques of power with emphasis on the proliferation of the prosperity doctrine as a response to dismal socio-economic realities.
