Purves (\u003cem\u003eNPN\u003c\/em\u003e, 263). But Linear A \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eerwi\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e also occurs. Several personal names with the element \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003ee-mi \/ i-mi\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e are attested in Linear A. They can be identified with \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eermi \/ irmi\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e, since according to Linear A and B orthographic conventions \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003e-r-\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e preceding \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003e-m-\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e is not expressed in consonant clusters.\u003c\/p\u003e Linear A \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003ewa-du-ni-mi\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e (HT 6b.1; HT 85b.4-5) at Hagia Triada can be analysed as an Old Hurrian \u003cem\u003eindicative\u003c\/em\u003e sentence name \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003ewad=u=n-irmi\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e or \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003ewand=u=n-irmi\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e 'The Lord has made him\/her (the child) good, just'.  Linear A \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003ei-mi-sa-ra\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e (HT 27+HT\u003csub\u003e \u003c\/sub\u003e48a.3), Hurrian \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003e*Irmi\/Ermi-sarra\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e, can be analysed as \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eIrmi\/Ermi-sarr(=i)=a\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e, 'The Lord is like the King of Gods'.  Linear A \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eja-re-mi\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e (HT 87.3) from Hagia Triada, second sequence in a list of 7 personal names, can be analysed as \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003ei=ar-\/ij=ar-Ermi \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e'Make (the child) good, oh Lord !'. It can be compared with the Hurrian name \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eia-ru-ḫé-pa\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e, analysed as \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003ei=ar\/ij=ar=u-ḫé-pa\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e 'Ḫebat made (the child) good' or 'Make (the child) good, oh Ḫebat !'.  The Linear A inscription \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003ete-we-mi\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e (↓) (PS Zf 1), read from top to bottom, among the repoussé designs on a bronze tablet from the Dictaean Cave of Psykhro (\u003cem\u003eChapter 11: 'Religious' Linear A inscriptions\u003c\/em\u003e) can be analysed as \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003etew-ermi\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e, 'speak, oh Lord !', consisting of \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eti-\/te- \/ tiw-\/tew-\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e 'to speak, say words' + \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eermi\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e = \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eerwi\/ewri \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e'Lord'. The \u003cem\u003eimperative\u003c\/em\u003e 'speak, oh Lord !' may well reflect the prayer pronounced by the dancing worshipper portrayed on the bronze tablet. Linear A\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003e -e-mi\/-i-mi\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e = Hurrian \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eermi \/ irmi\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e is the form in which the Mycenaean Greeks inherited the theonym \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eἙρμῆς \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e (form with intervocalic \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003e-h-\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e), cf. Linear B \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003ee-ma-a\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003csub\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003e2\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/sub\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003e a-re-ja \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e(PY Tn 316 r. 7), singular dative \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eἙρμάᾁ Ἀρείᾳ\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e 'for \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eἙρμάἁς Ἀρείᾱς\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e', 'for Hermes the Martial'. The intervocalic \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003e-h- \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003eof Mycenaean Greek moved to the front of the name.
