I found out I was pregnant with our third child while taking a very strong antibiotic. My nurse practitioner called to inform me there was a high probability of my baby being born with birth defects.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAfter hanging up the phone, I went into my bedroom and cried. I prayed and asked God for a healthy child. I felt He was telling me to trust Him.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI asked, \"How can I trust You down the road and wait for eight more months to know if my baby is okay or not?\"\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe Holy Spirit brought to mind a rainy day when my daughters and I were walking outside. Jaymi was playing in a little mud puddle when I saw a bigger one she would enjoy more.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eJust as I could see down the road a bigger puddle, the Lord asked me to take His hand and trust Him as He led me through those eight months of uncertainty. His grace would be sufficient for me if my baby were born with birth defects or not. He loved me, and He knew what was best.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt was during this time that I wrote this poem, Trust Me My Child.
