This is a book of poems on Christian or Christian-compatible themes; they render my personal experiences with Christianity as honestly as possible, or have to do with ideas, historical matters, doctrines, etc.

Author Biography

Raymond Oliver, an emeritus professor of English from Berkeley, specialized in Old and Middle English, verse translation, and the history of the short poem. He earned a PhD at Stanford, and studied poetry there on a Stegner Fellowship with Yvor Winters. His poems and verse-translations have been widely published; in prose, he has written critical studies and one tale of medieval fantasy (The Year of Wonders). He is married to Mary Anne McPherson, with children and grandchildren.
