Parmigiano Reggiano wheels, imported directly from Italy. Our authentic parmesan cheese wheels are produced by Italian producers in the mountains of Reggio Emilia. Parmigiano Reggiano made in the mountains is known for its more nuanced flavor and color profile, when compared to Parmigiano Reggiano sourced from the valleys of the production area. The difference comes from the diet the cows are fed which, in the mountains, includes mountain flowers and herbs. All of our wheels are produced in Dairy 358.

An authentic wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano aged between 24 and 36 months should fall between 85-88 pounds, and you typically should not be paying more than $16 per pound in a retail setting, depending on the age and quality of the cheese. 

If a wheel is lighter than that, it may not be real Parmigiano Reggiano or it may not have been stored properly and have lost a lot of its moisture. Our wheels typically range in age from 24 months to 36 months, so please contact us for more details if you have a preference in age.
