by Charles George Von Hammerstein (Author)
The fear of God is probably the most ignored and misunderstood doctrine of the Bible. The volume of scripture teaches about the fear of God, yet many teachers in Christianity either are silent about it or relegate it to just a deep respect, a reverence for God, and not the fear, dread, and terror that the scriptures truly say it is. Only the true fear of God recaptured in the heart of God's people will enable them to truly know God in the intimacy that He desires. Only the fear of God that involves trembling before Him will cause God's people to depart from iniquity and to overcome temptation. The fear of God is the spiritual inheritance given by God, which so many in the church have sadly put away. Discover the hidden balance of grace and fear, which is the source of our strength. Learn how to recapture the inestimable treasure of the fear of the Lord, which "alone is able to slay the Goliath of pride that continues to threaten us and to mock our God."
Author Biography
Charles von Hammerstein is a born again Christian who serves as an elder in New Covenant Christian Center International. He oversees and teaches at the School of Christ Bible College, training and equipping disciples to fulfill the Great Commission. His desire to preach the gospel of the kingdom of God has taken him to the nations of the Philippines, Kenya, and Uganda. Mr. von Hammerstein's dedication to the careful study and research of scriptures for over twenty years has culminated in the writing of several books and articles, which include The Kingdom of God versus Christianity, The Epistles in Concert, The Gospels in Concert, and Perfection of the Word. His work reflects an extraordinary ability to unravel and expound clearly the word of God by reasoning from the scriptures alone. Like Jude who desired to write of the great salvation we have received but who felt it was more needful to write to us to earnestly contend for the faith, so Charles had desired to write about overcoming temptation in the Christian walk. Yet the Lord impressed on his heart that it was more necessary to establish the heart of God's people in the fear of God. It is a treasure that needs to be rediscovered and understood. He left his profession as a Software Architect to write these books and to fulfill what he has always known in his heart to be God's call for his life. In May 2005, he was sent to live in Kenya along with his wife, Joyce, and their two children. He works closely with the nationals there to build the kingdom of God and to equip leaders in the government of God. He is also fulfilling the ministries of Matthew 25, to feed the hungry, clothe the poor, heal the sick, and visit those in prison.
