In a time where today's youth are unsure of who they are, they begin to take cues from their environment. Who Are You? guides participants through a series of activities that are meant to lead to self discovery. Who Are You? challenges today's youth to look within themselves to discover who they really are. Participants will examine their self-worth and how it often influences the way they dress, how they choose friends, and their attitudes in general. Their character will also come into play as they are guided through activities that are meant to test their true selves. Reflecting on their self-worth, participants will then set goals based on what they have discovered about themselves and ultimately create a vision that will be shared. Who Are You? offers participants activities that are relevant in today's culture while asking them to reflect on how culture affects them. Are you willing to ask the hard question, Who Are You?
Author Biography
With over a decade of literacy experience, Erica Battle received her Master's in the Art of Teaching from Trevecca Nazarene University and completed the coursework in Educational Leadership from Lipscomb University. A strong believer in teacher reflection, she has coached and trained teachers on the importance of meaningful classroom experiences. She involves herself in mentoring teachers through reflective practice that leads to purposeful instruction while staying current with best literacy practices that promote student engagement and success. Erica understands that student success stems from how they view themselves and how they perceive the opinion of their peers. This led to the development of Who Are You?, A Guide to Help Adolescents Navigate Through the Social and Emotional Issues of Life. Erica created this program to help guide today's youth through those topics that are rarely discussed but are of most importance. Erica believes that if you can help today's youth see their value, they will create goals and a vision for their life based on how they truly see themselves versus outside opinions.
